BOOKS on BOOKS on BOOKS

I am in a teachers paradise right now. Next year will be my first year as a classroom teacher and I have had probably about 7 books for my classroom. Yikes!! I feel it is important for any and all classroom teachers to have books in your classroom. Get your students excited about learning early. Well, I am broke and was beginning to worry that I was not going to have hardly any books in my room for my students to read. ...until yesterday!

The librarian in the school where I currently work was doing her annual library shelf cleaning. This year she was getting rid of a bunch of books that were still in good shape and books current students enjoy reading. She was kind enough to tell me about this before all the books were picked through. The books were being sold dirt cheap! I left yesterday with 30 and went back today for 20 more. 50 books!!! Which is 50 shades of awesomeness! Oh and guess what the total cost was?! Drumroll..........$10! SCORE!

I am so excited to put these on my classroom's bookshelf to start making memories with my students. If you are a new or current teacher, I suggest asking either the public or school library when they next planning on tossing books. This website is also a great source to find sales. Hopefully you will have as good as luck as I did!

Weekend Festivities

Hello loves.
This weekend has been a great end to my birthmonth. It involved spending time with my family, which I can not get enough of. The weekend was also a great end to a super busy work week. I barely have a voice left after all the coaching I did this week and the weekend festivities. Today I thought would be the perfect day to rest my throat for another week full of coaching again. Thank goodness blogging involves typing or else, this post would be skipped. Wheww.

It rained a lot this past week and that is not the best thing for softball season. Friday games were cancelled for the second time this week. I am tired of practices and I want a game! I am sure the players feel the same way. But, just because the games got cancelled, I was not about to settle for a boring night. It just so happened that one of my favorite country bands were in the area for a concert! Heck yea! Obviously, I sweet talked the boy into purchasing tickets that morning–because it is still my birthmonth. It was general admission and somehow we were able to be right in front!
Josh Abbott Band. The second time I have been able to see them at Buffalo Run and have enjoyed both times! And if you are ever in the area, I would check out Buffalo Run Casino. I do not like hate gambling, but they usually have an awesome lineup for entertainment.

The next night we traveled to a family wedding. It was a beautiful outdoor wedding. I was nervous for the bride since we had the typical spring April weather all week, but the day turned out to be nice. The reception, however, was inside. My mom used to be a wedding planner, so I have always obsessed over weddings. This was definitely one of the most unique wedding I have seen.

Not your typical wedding decor, but it was certainly one that the guests enjoyed and one they will be able to look back on and say, "we had fun!" The reception was filled with photo booths, popcorn, games, and enthusiastic, but awkward dance moves.

I have never been a fan of short wedding dress. That was until, I saw hers! I wish I had a better picture to do the dress justice, but this was the best I could get. I wish you both the best as you embark on your new adventure together. Oh and Melissa....welcome to the family!!

Well I hope ya'll had a fantastic weekend as well! This coming week's forcast looks amazing for Kansas...in the 80s!!! Wahooo! Great softball weather and great for the elementary track meet on Friday! Now let's just hope that it does not change, which it usually does in Kansas. One day it is 80° and the next, it is literally snowing.
Did I mention I finally broke down and bought myself the Urban Decay Naked Palette. They did not have the Naked 2 so I settled with this one although I was hesitant. I looove it! --Go buy it!

Birthday Babe

I could not imagine spending my 22nd birthday any other way. This morning was a little rough with it being 35° in April and seeing I did not want to get out of bed, but the day quickly picked up. I was surrounded by great people with smiling faces while spending my day doing what I love....teaching and coaching softball! #blessed (I can still use hashtags while blogging right?! Darn. I didn't think so.)

♫I don't know about you, but I'm feeling 22. Everything will be alright if you keep me next to you.
You don't know about me, but I bet you want to. Everything will be alright if we just keep dancing like we're 22

I am a guilty Taylor Swift music lover. Sorry Not sorry. I do, however, promise I won't post a TSwift music video everyday...I'm not obsessed so no worries there. ;) But, how could I not post this today?!

I used to babysit some of these girls and now they are almost finished with their 8th grade year! Crazy how time flies. But anyway, this was their version of the song 22 that they made for me. Love these girls!! And good job!

Although she is not with me anymore, my grandma GG always made sure birthdays were special. She did a good job at being my angel today by making this day great. I mostly celebrated over the weekend with friends and family and today ended this amazing birthday! But who am I kidding?! It's never a birthday but a birthmonth! That means I still have a week left of celebrating! Woo hoo!!
This seemed fitting enough. I love OPI nail polish. If your birthday is coming up, I suggest this satiny silver polish. It was fun, different than what I am used to, and perfect for my birthday! Birthday Babe

My best friend finally moved back after being several states away for almost a year. I was so happy she was here for my 22nd birthday!

My boyfriend was super "sweet" and made me an ice cream cookie cake! He knows I don't really care for cake, but ice cream is my weekness. Oh and that chocolate that is drizzled on top....that is melted Reeses. MY FAVORITE!

And this beauty is one of my first gifts of the day from one of the second grade students. She gave this to me and told me it was a dinosaur's tooth. ;) Lucky me!! Haha

Lastly, I leave you with this. Even if it is not your birthday today, I am sure it will add some sunshine to your day. This little girl means the world to me and when her momma sent this to me this morning, my day was instantly made. How could I have not had a good day?!

Official Blogger Status

With the ever changing social media, it is hard for a girl to keep up! I do not have time to log on to every single social media site to share the same picture or story with friends and family. I have always liked to document my life and important events through scrapbooking, but let's get real...who has time for that?! Everything nowadays is digital so this is my way of "digital scrapbooking" my life. Everything can all be found in ONE spot. Whew..that's a relief!

Whether I have a lot of followers or not, I am excited to use this blog to record all things that occur in this crazy, hectic, blessed, stylish, sometimes boring, but happy, life of mine. Daily, I conduct a creep through the many blogs I follow while wishing my life was interesting enough or I had some skill that would make for a good blog. I have decided to do this for ME. I am almost 22 [tomorrow] and am about to endeavor on a journey full of "firsts". What better reason to begin blogging?! I am a recent college grad that is trying to make sense of the wonderful world that surrounds me with God as my guide. How can I fail, because I am clothed in strength and dignity and I am going to laugh without fear of the future! Proverbs 31:25

If I do develop followers...I hope I can be an inspiration or a friend somehow through my posts about life, teaching, fashion, faith, photos, travels, and whatever else this blog may bring.
